MALI ENTRY VISA APPLICATION

Visa Information

  • GENERAL INFORMATION:

-Residents of Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and the Philippines and all foreign Nationals living or residing in these countries should secure an entry visa issued by the Ambassador of Mali in Tokyo prior to travelling to Mali. Visas will not be issued at the airport upon arrival in Mali.

-Visa applicants who are visiting these 05 countries should secure an entry visa to Mali issued by the Embassy of the Republic of Mali in their country of residence or the Embassy of Mali who covers their country of residence before leaving their country.

-Application files with incomplete or omitted information will not be processed

-Application forms with incomplete, modified or omitted information will not be processed

-Files sent by fax or email will not be accepted

-The passport of the applicant remains with the Embassy during the application process

-Visa will be denied if forged or fraudulent document is submitted

-The status of visa application will not be provided over the phone or fax or email to the applicant or any third party

-Reasons for not granting a visa will not be revealed in any case

-The Embassy may accept demands sent by mail

-In case of mail forwarding, the Embassy will not be liable for the loss of a passport

  • HOURS:

The drop-in time for a visa application is 10h00-12h30, Monday-Friday

The pick-up time is 13h30-16h00, Monday-Friday

The period of validity of the visa (usually 90 days for ordinary passport holders) starts from the day of its issuance.

NOTA BENE: For American citizens, the ordinary entry visa to Mali is issued for 5 years with multiple entry and costs 131 dollars.

Entry visa is free for diplomatic and service or official passport holders. In that case, it is recommended to enclose a Note Verbale of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the files.

Minors, Whose parents are Malian national, holders of another type of passport are exempted from entry visa.

  • DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR A MALI ENTRY VISA APPLICATION:

Visa applicants should submit the following documents:

-A valid passport and (expiry date no less than 6 months)

-A copy of the title page of the passport

-Three (3) duly completed and signed official entry visa application forms

-Three (3) passport-size photographs not older than 6 months (photocopies and scanned pictures will not be accepted)

-Original copy of the introduction or recommendation letter from the company and/or the correspondent in Mali (business visa)

-Return Air ticket

-Return stamped envelope

-Original copy of the parental permission for underage applicants traveling alone

NOTA BENE: The parental permission for underage applicants should be submitted jointly or separately by the two parents. The photocopy of the parents’ ID must be attached.

  • APPLICANTS RESIDING IN JAPAN:

-Applicants residing in Japan should come to the Embassy in person for application file drop-in.

-The Embassy may accept sending their application by mail or courier, along with the supporting documents.

-Visa applications are to be submitted with all the required documents.

-In case of mail forwarding, the Embassy will not be liable for the loss of a passport.

-Applicants using mail or courier service should send, along with their application, a return stamped envelope.

-Application fee should be paid in cash, or by bank transfer, in Japanese yen.

  • APPLICANTS RESIDING OUTSIDE OF JAPAN:

-For applicants residing in Australia, New-Zealand, South Korea and the Philippines, the Embassy may accept sending their application by mail or courier.

-In case of mail forwarding, the Embassy will not be liable for the loss of a passport.

-Applicants using mail or courier service should send, along with their application, a return stamped envelope with complete address and shipper’s account number

-Applicants residing outside of Japan should pay the visa fee by bank transfer, in Japanese yen.

  • VISA FEE DETAILS:

Visa application with a return stamped envelope:

      7 500 Yens (visa fee) + 4 000 Yens (receiving Tokyo bank commission) + sending bank commission.
TOTAL: 7 500 Yens + 4 000 Yens = 11 500 Yens

Visa application without a return stamped envelope:

Australia and New Zealand: 7 500 Yens (visa fee) + 4 000 Yens (receiving Tokyo bank commission) + 3 201 Yens (Passport return Fee).

TOTAL: 7 500 Yens + 4 000 Yens + 3 201 Yens = 14 701 Yens

South Korea: 7 500 Yens (visa fee) + 4 000 Yens (receiving Tokyo bank commission) + 1 501 Yens (Passport return Fee).

TOTAL: 7 500 Yens + 4 000 Yens + 1 501 Yens = 13 001 Yens

Philippines: 7 500 Yens (visa fee) + 4 000 Yens (receiving Tokyo bank commission) + 1 951 Yens (Passport return Fee).

TOTAL: 7 500 Yens + 4 000 Yens + 1 951 Yens = 13 451 Yens
